PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a phosphor powder having a small grain diameter and a small grain diameter distribution.SOLUTION: One embodiment of a method of producing a phosphor powder includes: a process of adding a carbon material to a phosphor material to form a precursor; and a process of burning the precursor to obtain the phosphor powder. When the phosphor powder is a nitride phosphor powder, a difference between D90 representing a grain diameter for 90% undersize accumulation in terms of volume and D10 representing a grain diameter for 10% undersize accumulation in terms of volume is ≤41 μm. When the phosphor powder is an oxide phosphor powder, a difference between D90 and D10 is ≤50 μm. |
