PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator which exhibits stable charge/discharge behavior even when a support with a large hole diameter, such as non woven fabric, capable of achieving higher battery capacity is used, and with which a battery excellent in rate characteristics and overcharge safety can be formed.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous battery separator includes a support containing a particle and a low molecular gelatinizer. A ratio of the number of holes having a minor diameter of 1.0 μm or less among the total hole number included in the support is 20% or less, and a ratio of the number of through holes continuous from one surface to other surface and having a major diameter of 150 μm or more among the total hole number included in the support is 10% or less. |
