PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cobalt hydroxide and cobalt oxide which have an average particle diameter of ≥5 μm and a sharp particle size distribution of secondary particles and do not substantially contain fine particles whose particle diameter is ≤1 μm.SOLUTION: This method for producing cobalt hydroxide includes a neutralization step in which a glycine-containing aqueous solution of cobalt (liquid A) having a glycine content of 0.010-0.300 mol relative to 1 mol of cobalt in terms of atoms and an aqueous alkali solution (liquid B) are added to an aqueous medium (liquid C) and brought into a neutralization reaction at 55-85°C to thereby obtain cobalt hydroxide. |
