PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To authenticate a terminal in network relay via a network converter, by performing identification of a specific terminal by using information other than the address information in an IP layer.SOLUTION: Data terminals 13, 14 embeds the terminal identification information in the IP header of an IP pad performing data communication, and transmits that information along with the transmission data from an NAT device 15 to a data terminal 12 over a communication network 17. The terminal identification information utilizes the value of total 16 bits, i.e., the upper 8 bits of an identifier field and the 8 bits of a TOS field. Since the terminal identification information in the IP header is not changed in the NAT device 15, it is transmitted over the NAT device 15. A terminal identification device 16 takes out the terminal identification information stored in the IO packet thus received, and compares it with a communicable terminal identification information preset by the terminal identification device 16 thus authenticating a terminal. |
