摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal lens that has excellent imaging performance.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal lens 1 includes first to fourth liquid crystal layers 21 to 24 arranged on an optical axis C. An alignment direction in the first liquid crystal layer 21 and an alignment direction in the second liquid crystal layer 22 are different from each other at 180° in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis C. An alignment direction in the third liquid crystal layer 23 and the alignment direction in the first liquid crystal layer 21 are different from each other at 90° in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis C. The alignment direction in the third liquid crystal layer 23 and an alignment direction in the fourth liquid crystal layer 24 are different from each other at 180° in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis C. A liquid crystal layer positioned on one side of the optical axis C out of the first and second liquid crystal layers 21 and 22 is thinner in thickness than a liquid crystal layer positioned on the other side thereof. A liquid crystal layer positioned on one side of the optical axis C out of the third and fourth liquid crystal layers 23 and 24 is thinner in thickness than a liquid crystal layer positioned on the other side thereof.
