PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of data of road information to be transmitted to an in-vehicle unit as further as possible.SOLUTION: A road information providing device 1 comprises: position detecting means 2 which detects a present position of a vehicle; matching means 4 which performs map matching on a road of map data for the present position of the vehicle and defines a matched candidate of the present position as a reference point; ranking means 15 in which, when there are a plurality of reference points, the plurality of reference points are ranked; calculating means 16 which calculates a priority for a road link in front of the reference point; weighting means 16 in which, when there are a plurality of reference points, the calculated priority of the road link is weighted based on the ranking of the plurality of reference points; and information transmitting means 17 which transmits information on road links to the outside in order from the highest weighted priority. |
