PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway (GW) which can be used in a sensor network system even when there are limitations on available electric power, processing capability or memory capacity.SOLUTION: A GW 20 comprises: a short-range radio communication unit 21 which communicates with a sensor 10 by radio in a short distance; a communication unit 22 which communicates with a server 30; an operation parameter store unit 23 which stores therein operation parameters received from the server 30, the parameters including at least settings of measurement intervals of a sensor 12, settings of address information on a transmission destination GW in measurement results detected by the sensor 12, and settings of transmission intervals in measurement results from the local device to the server 30; and a control unit 24 which transmits an instruction to the sensor node 10 at measurement intervals in operation parameters requesting that measurement be made and measurement result be transmitted by the sensor 12, acquires measurement results which the sensor node 10 has obtained by driving the sensor 12 responding to the instruction, and transmits the measurement results received from the sensor node 10 to the server 30 at transmission intervals in operation parameters. |
