PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical CIS solar battery which can bring about weight reduction, flexibility and cost reduction of a CIS solar battery, and in which excellent insulation properties are preferably imparted to a substrate itself that can support flexibility.SOLUTION: A CIS solar battery uses a surface treatment steel plate having an anodic oxide film on a surface layer of an Al-based plating layer of a molten Al-based plating steel plate, where the Si content in the plating layer is 3.0-15.0 wt%, as a substrate for deposition. On the anodic oxide film, a material layer containing an alkaline metal is arranged, and a CIS layer is provided thereon with a lower electrode layer interposed therebetween. The material layer containing an alkaline metal may be composed of an alkali silicate film having a composition represented by MOnSiO(where, M is Li, Na or K, n is 3-5). |
