PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle periphery monitoring system which is capable of suppressing confusion of provided directions when two devices provide direction information at the same timing.SOLUTION: A vehicle periphery monitoring system comprises: a first device (detection device of obstacles in the vicinity) which provides direction information of an approaching object at least by an audio output (voice guidance); and a second device (detection device of approaching objects from a far distance) which provides direction information of an approaching object at least by display (highlighted display). When a timing of providing direction information of an approaching object by an audio output of the first device coincides with a timing of providing direction information of an approaching object by display of the second device, the providing of direction information of the approaching object by the audio output of the first device is suspended. In particular, it is preferable that the suspension of the providing of the direction information of the approaching object by the audio output of the first device be continued until a predetermined time elapses after the providing of direction information of the approaching object by display of the second device ends. |
