PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mat material that secures safety and simultaneously has superior wind erosion resistance.SOLUTION: The mat material includes a first inorganic fiber made of alumina fibers and a second inorganic fiber made of bio-soluble fibers. An average fiber diameter of the first inorganic fiber is 4.0-10.0 μm, the smallest fiber diameter thereof is 3.0 μm or more, and the smallest fiber diameter of the second inorganic fiber is less than 3.0 μm.
