PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording head that suppresses degradation or erasure of information having been recorded and makes high recording density possible, and further to provide a disk device provided therewith.SOLUTION: A recording head of a disk device comprises: a main magnetic pole 60; a trailing shield; a recording coil; and a high frequency oscillator 65 provided between a leading end portion of the main magnetic pole 60 and the trailing shield. The main magnetic pole 60 includes a first magnetic pole layer 61a and a second magnetic pole layer 61b laminated at a trailing side of the first magnetic pole layer 61a. The first magnetic pole layer 61a has a narrowing portion 64a and a first leading end portion 66a extending from the narrowing portion 64a. The second magnetic pole layer 61b has a narrowing portion 64b and a second leading end portion 66b extending from the narrowing portion 64b. A width of the second leading end portion 66b in a track direction is narrower than a width of the first leading end portion 66a in the track direction. The high frequency oscillator 65 is provided between the second leading end portion 66b and the trailing shield and has a width in the track direction substantially the same as the width of the second leading end portion 66b in the track direction. A height H1 of the first leading end portion 66a is higher than a height H2 of the second leading end portion 66b. |
