PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor capable of preventing a bearing from being damaged due to electrification of a thrust rolling bearing part, and also capable of preventing the bearing from being damaged due to localized loading, and thereby to provide a refrigerator including the hermetic compressor which has small power consumption and high reliability.SOLUTION: A hermetic compressor includes an electric element 30 and a compression element 20 housed in a sealed container 3, a driving shaft 7 driven by the electric element 30, and a thrust rolling bearing 41 for journaling the driving shaft 7. The compressor is characterized in that the thrust rolling bearing 41 includes a plurality of rolling elements 41d, a retainer 41c holding the rolling elements 41d, and an upper race 41a and a lower race 41b installed on and under the rolling elements 41d, respectively, and an insulator 42 is provided on a surface of the upper race 41a or lower race 41b on the side opposite from the rolling elements 41d. |
