PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image formation apparatus in which an auxiliary color image formation station can easily be added to the image formation apparatus including a fundamental color image formation station arranged therein.SOLUTION: The optical scanner comprises: a fundamental image formation station for forming a toner image of fundamental colors on a fundamental image carriers (11y and 11 m); an auxiliary image formation station for forming a toner image of auxiliary color different from the fundamental colors on an auxiliary image carrier (11z); and a housing capable of accommodating the fundamental image formation station and the auxiliary image formation station. A light source (1y and 1 m) of the fundamental image formation station and a light source (1z) of the auxiliary image formation station are arranged so as to sandwich a first plane orthogonal to any of rotation axes of the fundamental image carriers and a rotation axis of the auxiliary image carrier, among planes including a rotation axis (A) of a deflector (7).
