<p>PURPOSE: A device for exploring a play section of multimedia content in an electronic device and a method thereof are easily explore the play section of the multimedia content by providing a user interface for exploring the play section of the multimedia content in the electronic device including a touch screen. CONSTITUTION: If a drag to a display area of multimedia content is sensed during the play of the multimedia content, the sensing of a curved drag is confirmed by considering an angle change of consecutive touch coordinates included in a drag path (205). If the curved drag is sensed, a play section of the multimedia content is explored by considering a distance and a direction of the drag (211). The curved drag displays the consecutive touch coordinates as a bent shape.
