PURPOSE: A sensor automation placement device for composing a building energy management system environment and a method thereof are provided to determine a position of a sensor in a building environment on a program, to confirm the sensor position, and to calculate a necessary budget for sensor composition based on information about a necessary budget for sensor placement, a feature of the sensor, and a space feature of a building. CONSTITUTION: An information input unit (110) receives information about a building in which a building energy management system is built, information about sensors used for building the building energy management system, and information about a budget for building the building energy management system. A sensor placement unit (120) calculates a placement position of the sensors based on the inputted information. A user interface unit (130) displays the calculated placement position.
