The corner former (10) has first and second conjoined portions (11, 12) each portion having an upper section for engaging a wall and a lower section (21) for engaging a floor. The lower sections (21) are adapted to abut the lengths of coving and define the desired coving shape. The upper section has tapered free peripheral edges (19) to reduce the visibility of the upper sections when the flooring material is extended partially up the wall.
