590082 A self-drilling anchor (10) for use in either a friable or semi-rigid material is disclosed. The anchor comprises a body having an axis (6) an axial bore adapted to receive a fastener, a proximal end and a drilling end. A proximal portion adjacent the proximal end has high threading (19) for engaging said friable or semi-rigid material. An additional thread (90) proximate the proximal end continues between turns of the high threading (19). The head (14) at the proximal end has an outer diameter that is smaller than the crest diameter of high threading (19).
