596357 Disclosed is a rotor-supporting structure for an electric motor. The rotor-supporting structure is comprised of a tube (322) having an interior surface, an exterior surface, at least one bearing support section (376) and an annular flange (374). The interior surface is structured to support a rotor (314) and magnet (316) of a motor (310) within the tube (322). The at least one bearing support section (376) is provided to at least one end of the tube (322) and is adapted to support a bearing (320). The tube (322) also has at least a portion that is sufficiently magnetically transparent to allow a magnetic field to pass through it. The annular flange (374) is provided on the exterior surface of the tube (322) and is structured to support and maintain a stator assembly (318) of the motor (310) in an operative position when assembled with a motor housing (362). A positive airway pressure device (360) having a motor (310) featuring such a rotor-supporting structure is also disclosed.
