Pinned Connections

A pinned connection is disclosed comprising a first connection element (150) including a pair of spaced arms (153), a second connection element (160) received between the arms and a pin (230). Each arm (153) defines an aperture (151) such that the apertures are aligned with each other and each said aperture (151) has a tapered wall portion. A hole in the second connection element (160) is aligned with the apertures (151) and the pin (230) extends into the apertures (151) and the hole. A retainer (210) is located within each aperture (151) including a tapered wall portion corresponding to and engaged with the tapered wall portion of the respective aperture (151). The tapered wall portions of the apertures (151) and the retainers (210) include engaged helical projections and helical grooves to secure the retainers to the apertures.
