<p>PURPOSE: A location confirming method in a short-distance network and a device thereof are provided to accurately confirm the position of a terminal although the signal strength of the short-distance network such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is frequently changed due to people or obstacles. CONSTITUTION: A location confirming device of a short-distance network comprises a location confirming module (15) and database (19). The location confirming module obtains signal strength, a media access control (MAC) address, and a service set identifier (SSID) from a wireless access device by searching a short-distance wireless signal. When the signal strength of the wireless access device is more than a first standard value and when the MAC address of the wireless access device was previously registered, the location confirming module confirms a virtual area ID in which the wireless access device is arranged and confirms a building and a floor by using the virtual area ID. The location confirming module confirms a first signal strength wireless access device and a second signal strength wireless access device amount the wireless access devices arranged on the building and the layer. When the first signal strength is over a second standard value, the location confirming module confirms the virtual area in which the first signal strength wireless access device is arranged with the location of a terminal. The database stores the virtual area ID stored by each MAC address.
