NZ 596324 Disclosed is a composite material comprising between 70 and 99.9 wt% dry on dry filler, wherein the filler is at least one of inorganic filler and wood and wherein the filler is in the form of fibres, particles, or sheets, and wherein the filler contains less than 20 wt% relative to the filler of proteinous material, and further comprising resin comprising proteinous material that contains proteins and/or polypeptides that are cross-linkable by enzymes, and enzymes suitable for said crosslinking. Also disclosed is a two-component adhesives for fillers, wherein one component comprises a proteinous material that contains proteins and/or polypeptides, and the second component is an enzyme, capable of cross-linking the proteins and/or polypeptides in said proteinous material.
