A network system comprises a communication interface for enabling the network system to communicate with an end-point device over a wireless access network; and one or more network elements configured to: obtain existing policy behavior data associated with the end-point device, the existing policy behavior data providing information about an existing aspect of an existing end-point device operation or configuration associated with a service policy, the service policy for assisting one or more agents on the end-point device in one or more of: controlling or managing service usage over the wireless access network by the end-point device, monitoring and reporting service activity information associated with the end-point device, monitoring and reporting configuration information associated with the end-point device, and presenting a user notification through a user interface of the endpoint device and obtaining a user response to the user notification, determine whether the existing policy behavior data comports with an expected policy behavior, the expected policy behavior reflecting an expected aspect of an expected end-point device operation or configuration that would result from a correct implementation of the service policy by the one or more agents, and when the existing policy behavior data does not comport with the expected policy behavior, take a policy-verification-error action. |
