598071 Disclosed herein is the use of a crystal form of the compound of formula (Ia) or a salt thereof, wherein the compound is 4-[9-(tetrahydro-furan-3-yl)-8-(2,4,6-trifluoro-phenylamino)-9H-purin-2-ylamino]-cyclohexan-l-ol, for the treatment of neurodegenerative disease; a cardiovascular disease; insulin resistance; a fibrotic disease; a disorder caused, induced or exacerbated by ozone, cold or exercise; syndrome X; metabolic syndrome; acute or chronic organ transplant rejection; or for the preservation of tissue and organs in a patient in need thereof.
