595101 Disclosed is an animal ear tag for identification of an animal. The tag comprises a body portion that can be folded about a central axis to close the tag. The central axis is defined by a living hinge. A closure element is provided to hold the tag in the closed position. The body portion comprises a first substantially planar member (8) extending from the living hinge in a first direction of elongation and a second substantially planar member (10) extending from the opposite side of the living hinge in a second direction of elongation. Curved sections join the substantially elongate members to the living hinge. When the ear tag is in the closed position the closure element is offset from a perpendicular axis of the central axis. The offset improves visibility of the jaws of an applicator when several tags are loaded into an applicator.
