A stirring device (10) for stirring a buoyant filter medium (3) in a filter (20) that separates solid from liquid in a raw solution in a filter medium layer (5) of the buoyant filter medium (3) by supplying the raw solution to a filtration tank (1) having a sealed filtration chamber (2) for holding the buoyant filter medium (3). The stirring device (10) is equipped with: a drive shaft (8) that stands on the bottom (1a) of the filtration chamber (2); and stirring blades (9) that are installed on the drive shaft (8), are multiple flat stirring blades (9) having an outflow end (9b) that is extended diagonally upward, and are disposed in the vicinity of the lower surface (5a) of the filtration layer of the filter medium layer (5).
