COMPUTER SYSTEM AND VIRTUAL MACHINE ARRANGEMENT METHOD

A computer system (1) comprising a plurality of servers (2), a noise source, and a control device (4). Virtual machines are arranged in each server (2). The noise source emits sound when a server (2) is operating, for each server (2). The control device (4) controls the arrangement of the virtual machines in the servers (2). The control device (4) solves integer programming problems having as the target function therefor a noise contribution degree defined as a function for virtual machine arrangement or as a function for the number of job allocations, by executing, using a processor, software that solves integer programming problems. The noise contribution degree indicates the degree that sound emitted by the noise source contributes to the amount of noise at an evaluation point. The control device (4) arranges virtual machines in each server (2), using the processor via an interface for each server (2), on the basis of the solution to the integer programming problems.
