Belt, preferably a press felt or transport belt for a machine for producing a web material, preferably paper, comprises a first material layer (12), which is made fibrous material, at least one second material layer (14), which is made of fibrous material, and which is connected to the first material layer by needling, and/or at least one third material layer, which is made of thread material, where a film layer (22) is arranged between at least two material layers, and is connected to the two adjacent material layers by melting. An independent claim is also included for producing the belt, comprising (a) providing a first-, second- and third material layer, (b) providing a film layer between at least two material layers provided in the step (a), (c) connecting the material layers by needling, and (d) connecting the film layer to the adjacent material layers by melting the film layer.
