PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user that jamming may be attributed to a protective member yet to be removed, without providing any sensor for detecting the protective member.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus for conveying a sheet includes: a detection means for detecting sheet jamming; a determination means for determining the number of discharged sheets; and a notification means for notifying a user to remove the protective member present on a conveyance path if the sheet jamming is detected by the detection means and the number of discharged sheets is determined to be less than a predetermined number by the determination means, and notifying the user of the sheet jamming if the sheet jamming is detected by the detection means and the number of discharged sheets is determined to be equal to or greater than the predetermined number by the determination means.
