The invention concerns a tensioning assembly (38) for a conveyor belt (18). The tensioning assembly includes a vertically extending frame (15) including a pair of generally parallel, transversely spaced and co-extensive frame legs (22). A tensioning weight assembly (24) is located between the legs to engage the belt to tension the belt.
