PURPOSE: An adaptive control method of a high voltage battery and a device thereof prevent the shock of a vehicle by adaptively controlling limited power and a limited power change rate. CONSTITUTION: A voltage of a high voltage battery is compared with a limited voltage (S310). A limited power reduction rate is calculated according to the result of being compared with the limited voltage (S320). The voltage is used as the basis of the calculation. A state of the high voltage battery is adaptively used to the calculation. Limited power of the high voltage battery is controlled to be reduced (S330).
