MANUFACTURING METHOD OF OPTICAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a highly reliable optical module which can reduce time and efforts for adjusting an optical axis, has a small number of components, and can be manufactured at low costs when an optical transmission line and an optical semiconductor element are optically coupled with an optical waveguide for optical path conversion.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an optical module includes the steps of: putting uncured transparent resin 31 onto an optical semiconductor element 21; inserting an end of an optical transmission line 22 into the transparent resin 31 that is put by moving the optical transmission line 22 in a direction L along a substrate 24 on which the optical semiconductor element 21 is mounted; separating the optical transmission line 22 inserted into the transparent resin 31 away from the optical semiconductor element 21 in an obliquely upward direction R to stretch the transparent resin 31; and curing the transparent resin 31 and forming an optical path guide part which transmits or reflects light between the optical transmission line 22 and the optical semiconductor element 21 to optically couple them.
