PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing and using a composition containing a milk product to be used as a nutritional supplement.SOLUTION: A method for reducing muscle inflammation in individuals undertaking resistance exercise training, using a composition comprising a whey growth factor extract obtained by applying skim milk to an SP (sulfopropyl) sepharose cation-exchange column, by washing the column with a buffer solution containing NaCl less than 0.008M, and by eluting and isolating WGFE (whey growth factor extract) at pH of 6.5 with a buffer solution containing 0.4M NaCl, is diclosed.
