PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gripping device for gripping an object according as two gripping plates approach the object only when the object is placed on the gripping device.SOLUTION: The gripping device includes a base, an operation structure and two gripping plates. The operation structure is housed in the base, and equipped with a gear and a cam disposed along the same axial center. The two gripping plates respectively include extended arms, and the two extended arms are engaged with both corresponding sides of the gear. When the cam is engaged by an engagement member, the two gripping plates show an opened state, and when the cam is dislocated from the engagement member, the cam rotates the gear in conjunction such that the two extended arms are pulled to be linearly moved, and that the two gripping plates are moved from the opened state to the gripped state. |
