PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel-like metal adsorbing material used for removing/recovering a wide range of heavy metals in a solution to be treated such as factory waste water, city water, environmental water or the like, and capable of addressing various requests, and a metal adsorbent in which the gel-like adsorbing material is internally supported on a porous carrier.SOLUTION: A gel-like metal adsorbing material having high metal adsorbing properties and capable of coping with various requests is manufactured by crosslinking a metal adsorbing polymer selected from polyethyleneimine or a polyallyl amine with a polyglycidyl ether. Further, the metal adsorbing polymer is infiltrated in a hydrophilic porous carrier and subsequently crosslinked with a polyglycidyl ether to manufacture a metal adsorbent, in which the gel-like metal adsorbing material is internally supported on the porous carrier, having high metal adsorbing quantity and capable of addressing various requests. |
