PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein existing separators for fuel cells have only a limited number of gas flow directions or have difficulty in ensuring a sufficient area of contact with fuel cells.SOLUTION: A separator S1 for a fuel cell adapted to form gas passages against cells C as power generation elements of fuel cells FC and serve also as an interconnector has a projecting portion 11 and a recessed portion 12 with inverted recessed and projecting shapes on a reverse side. The projecting portion 11 has a sectional shape whose width reduces toward a top portion over a fixed length, and the recessed portion 12 has a sectional shape whose width reduces toward a bottom portion over a fixed length. A plurality of such projecting portions 11 and recessed portions 12 are adjacently arranged in the same plane. This enables arbitrary setting of gas flow directions and ensures a sufficient area of contact with the fuel cells. |
