PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that has improved startability.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes: a reformer 9 that uses raw material to produce hydrogen-containing gas by reforming reaction; a hydro-desulfurizer 8 that removes a sulfur compound from the raw material that is to be supplied to the reformer 9; a fuel cell 10 that generates power by use of the hydrogen-containing gas; a hydrogen source 7; a first passage 5 through which hydrogen to be supplied to the raw material from the hydrogen source 7 before the raw material flows into the hydro-desulfurizer 8 flows; a first on-off valve 1 that is provided in the first passage 5; a second passage 6 through which hydrogen to be supplied to an anode gas passage of the fuel cell 10 from the hydrogen source 7 flows; a second on-off valve 2 that is provided in the second passage 6; and a controller 11 that opens both the first on-off valve 1 and the second on-off valve 2 on startup. |
