PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a rubber composition for tires that can improve fuel economy, wet grip performance and abrasion resistance; and a pneumatic tire using this.SOLUTION: In a rubber composition for tires, the content of styrene-butadiene is 50 mass% or more rubber based on 100 mass% of the rubber component, wherein an alumina hydrate is included which has an average particle diameter as powder of 12 μm or more, nitrogen adsorption specific surface area (NSA) of 30-300 m/g and a crystal size of 5-100 nm. |
