ELECTROLYTIC MANGANESE DIOXIDE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND USE OF SAME

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an electrolytic manganese dioxide which has excellent middle-rate discharge characteristics in comparison to conventional electrolytic manganese dioxides; a method for producing the electrolytic manganese dioxide; and a use of the electrolytic manganese dioxide. An electrolytic manganese dioxide which is characterized in that the potential as measured in a 40% by weight aqueous solution of KOH on the basis of a mercury/mercury oxide reference electrode is more than 250 mV but less than 310 mV and the volume of fine pores having a pore diameter of from 2 nm to 50 nm (inclusive) is 0.0055 cm3/g or less. It is preferable that the electrolytic manganese dioxide has a volume of fine pores having a pore diameter of from 2 nm to 200 nm (inclusive) is 0.0555 cm3/g or less.
