The method involves providing the grating elements (1,4) with a pasty active material containing lead at both surfaces. The pasty mass grating elements are then planarly coated with an electrically conductive materials (2A,2B) such as polymer and electrical conductive graphite to produce battery electrode. An independent claim is included for a battery electrode.
