The cell has a cell frame structure (1) comprising two half frames with two separate differently polarized positive and negative electrode chambers, which are arranged such that the positive electrode chamber of one half frame is opposite to the negative electrode chamber of another half frame. The polarized electrode chambers are separated from each other by an ion exchange membrane (7). Seal plates laterally seals the multi cell in limited areas while main electrolyte inlet and outlet openings are unclosed by the seal plates and the half frames.
