PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein which can be used for developing vaccines against S. agalactiae infection and S. pyogenes infection.SOLUTION: There are provided proteins (including amino acid sequence and a corresponding nucleotide sequence) originated from group B: Streptococcus agalactiae and group A: Streptococcus pyogenes. Data showing that the proteins are antigens useful for vaccines, immunogenic compositions and/or diagnostic medicines are given. The proteins are also targets for antibodies. The compositions are used for treating or preventing infections or diseases caused by streptococcal bacteria, especially S. agalactiae and S. pyogenes.
