PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that has a gate drive circuit having contact holes formed on an array substrate, prevents a light-shielding layer of a color filter substrate from being melted away, and prevents a decrease in display quality.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a gate line drive circuit 160 having contact hole parts 217a and 217b formed on an array substrate 100, and a light-shielding layer 240 formed of a metal material on a color filter substrate 200. An area on which the gate line drive circuit 160 is formed is divided into areas 271 and 273 where the contact hole parts 217a and 217b are formed, and an area 272 where the contact hole parts are not formed; and an end part that contacts a liquid crystal layer 330 of a seal material 350 is arranged on the area 272 where the contact hole parts are not formed. |
