The valve (16) has a valve element provided within a valve housing and movable between a position, which heats diesel fuel returning from an engine (32), and another position, which empties fuel into a container inside. A temperature-sensitive thermostat element moves the valve element with respect to temperature of diesel fuel. A temperature safety valve is provided in the valve housing to empty returning fuel into the container inside. The temperature safety valve comprises multiple bi-metallic spring leaves, which are attached in an aperture in the valve housing.
