PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply system for an automobile or the like that can avoid power generation during operation of an internal combustion engine in an insufficient charging state of a charger, suppress deterioration of fuel consumption and further supply sufficient power even at the time of activation of an idling stop and start device while being capable of preventing a battery from being exhausted in a vehicle mounted with the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A power supply system for an automobile comprises: a first electricity supply system having a first power generator driven by a driving shaft of an internal combustion engine and a first charger; and a second electricity supply system having a second power generator driven by a transmission shaft between the internal combustion engine and driving wheels and a second charger. The power supply system is configured such that a first switch is provided between the second power generator and the second charger, and a second switch is provided between the second charger and the first charger, respectively. In a case where a voltage of the second charger is lowered, the power supply system performs charging of the second charger by power generation of the second power generator while the vehicle is traveling. |
