摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved high-temperature characteristics and wear characteristics in a coating of a wearable thermal barrier.SOLUTION: There are provided high-purity zirconia-based and/or hafnia-based materials and coatings for high-temperature cycling applications. A thermal barrier coating consisting of the material of high purity has a sintering resistance which is considerably improved compared with the coating consisting of a present material of low purity. The material is zirconia and/or hafnia of high purity which is partially or completely stabilized by one or several combinations of the following stabilizing agent, i.e., yttria, ytterbia, scandia, lanthanoid oxide and actinoid oxide. The limit of impurities oxide, i.e., the limit of oxides of other components than intended ones can bring the considerably improved sintering resistance. A high-purity coating structure is provided, which is suitable for the applications to the high-temperature cycle and the substrate.
