PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing agent for a liquid crystal display element having excellent adhesiveness to an alignment layer and hardly inducing contamination of a liquid crystal, and to provide a liquid crystal display element using the sealing agent for a liquid crystal display element.SOLUTION: The sealing agent for a liquid crystal display element comprises: a curable resin having a (meth)acrylic group; a curing agent; and at least one compound selected from the group consisting of surface-treated calcium carbonate, polyimide fine particles, nitrile butadiene rubber fine particles, 3-alkoxysilyl propyl succinic acid anhydride and a compound expressed by a specified general structural formula. The compounding amount of the surface-treated calcium carbonate, the polyimide fine particles and the nitrile butadiene rubber fine particles with respect to 100 parts by weight of the curable resin ranges from 3 to 100 parts by weight; and the compounding amount of the 3-alkoxysilyl propyl succinic acid anhydride and the compound expressed by a specified general structural formula with respect to 100 parts by weight of the curable resin ranges from 0.2 to 10 parts by weight. |
