BETA-GLUCOSIDASE ENHANCED FILAMENTOUS FUNGAL WHOLE CELLULASE COMPOSITION, AND METHOD OF USE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beta-glucosidase enhanced filamentous fungal whole cellulase composition, and a method for hydrolyzing a cellulosic material using a beta-glucosidase enhanced whole cellulase composition.SOLUTION: A method is provided for decreasing the amount of a whole cellulase required to hydrolyze a cellulosic material by adding an effective amount of beta-glucosidase. The effective amount of beta-glucosidase enhanced whole cellulase contains Trichoderma reesei beta-glucosidase BGL3 in a range of greater than 10% to 25% relative to the whole cellulase on a weight: weight ratio, and the effective amount of beta-glucosidase enhanced whole cellulase contains Trichoderma reesei whole cellulase.
