PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital signal processing device and a digital signal processing method that include a filter section comprising in a single stage or in a multistage series connection IIR filters having a shelf characteristic (or step characteristic), and correct a phase characteristic &thetas; of the filter section to a phase-frequency response characteristic substantially close to a linear phase.SOLUTION: The digital signal processing device includes: the filter section comprising M-th order (M: integer) Butterworth IIR filters Sn having a shelf characteristic Hn indicating a cutoff frequency fcn and a gain gn; and a phase correction filter section connected in series with the filter section to correct a phase characteristic &thetas; of the filter section close to a linear phase.
