PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for converting multimedia contents using a template are provided to convert inputted multimedia contents to various shapes suitable for display. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for converting multimedia contents using a template comprises a content input unit (110), a content conversion unit (120), a content setting unit (130), and a memory unit (140). The content input unit receives content files and recognizes one or more unit contents. The content conversion unit analyzes the structure of the recognized unit contents and information of elements. The content setting unit sets the unit contents to a base template according to the connection relation between the unit contents and unit objects.
