PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow golf club incorporating a stress-reducing feature including an aperture located on the crown or sole of a club head.SOLUTION: A golf club head includes a crown-side stress-reducing feature (SRF) located at a crown 600 of a club head 400 and a sole-side stress-reducing feature SRF located at a sole 700 of the club head 400. The SRF may contain an aperture penetrating through the shell of the golf club head 400. The location and size of the SRF and aperture play an important role in reducing a peak stress received by a face 500 of the golf club and in a selective increase of deflection of the face 500.
